 Man! I am the heat of your hearth
on cold winter nights.
Shadow friend when the sun shines in summer
I am the beam of your house,
the axis of your table;
I am the bed where you sleep,
and wood with which you make your ships;
are the handle of your hoe
and the door of your entry.
I am the wood of your cradle
and your coffin;
I am the bread of kindness
flower of beauty;
Hear my prayer: do not destroy me!
